What's new in this version?
- Fixed bug with incorrect startup lock on Windows XP.
- Fixed bug which didn't allow to change the password on Windows
Vista.
Compatibility
This version of Lock My PC is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows
XP, Windows XP x64, Vista and Windows Vista x64 only. It will not
run on Windows 95, 98, ME operating systems.
Installation
Although you can use Lock My PC 4 together with Lock My PC 2.x
or 3.x, we recommend to uninstall the previous version before installing
Lock My PC 4. If you want to keep both versions on your computer
you MUST install Lock My PC 4 into a separate folder.
To install Lock My PC, run Lock My PC installation package and
follow the on-screen instructions.
If you are the only user of Lock My PC, select Single-user installation.
If you are a system administrator and installing Lock My PC in office
on an employee's computer, logon the computer with your account
and select multi-user installation. Do not install Lock My PC under
the employee's account if you don't know what you are doing.
Known issues
The uninstaller will not prompt user to restart the computer after
uninstall completed. To finish uninstall completely (e.g. before
Lock My PC reinstall) you should restart the computer manually.
Bulletproof
startup lock
Please be careful when you enable Always Lock Computer
at computer startup option. If you forget your password,
you will not be able to start your computer even in Windows Safe
Mode. If you enable this option in Multi-user mode, only Lock My
PC administrator (the user who installed Lock My PC) will be able
to unlock computer at startup.
