Hide Folders and Hide Folders Pro are security tools, which allow hiding folders out from users and applications.


Actually Hide Folders works on any PC running under Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME.


Hide Folders and Hide Folders Pro does not work under Windows 2000/XP. But we have separate product - Hide Folders XP.
It was designed specially for users of Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
We supply Hide Folders XP as shareware with 30-days trial period.


Hide Folders intercepts file system operations and filters them. When filtering Hide Folders cancels any operations with folders you specified as hidden.


Not at all.


The folders appear because Hide Folders hides them only when it is loaded.


This feature requires meddling in file system. Running such low-level utilities like Norton Disk Doctor, Scandisk, etc may damage hidden folders in this case.


Your folders reveals because Hide Folders hides folders on a PC where it is installed only. You may try to use our FSPro (File System Protector) utility that encrypts/decrypts files transparently and is useful for CD ROM protection.

We consider Hide Folders as a freeware program. We don't limit term of using this software and it's functionality is enough for most tasks. It allows you to hide 2 folders at the same time. You can hide program folder and you may move all your sesitive folders into one and hide it. Unlike Pro version Hide Folders doesn't have password option. But you may rename or remove Hide Folders shortcut and assign a tricky hot key to start Hide Folders.


No. Hide Folders doesn't use any Internet connection. Its banners are hardcoded into the program and they are just promoting Hide Folders Pro.


According to our upgrade policy you are entitled to free minor upgrades. There may be an additional fee for a major upgrade.


A minor upgrade is where the version number changes only after the first point (".").
An example of a minor upgrade is from version 1.0 to 1.1.

A major upgrade is where the version number changes before the first point (".").
An example of a major upgrade is from version 1.4 to 2.0.

Minor upgrades assume bugfixes, some functionality improvement.
