My Lockbox is an very easy in use software. The most important
parameters can be configured during the setup procedure.
First of all, download the latest version of Folder Lock box from
http://www.fspro.net/downloads.html
Run the installation package and follow the on-screen instructions.

This is a welcome screen telling you that you are going to install
My Lockbox.
Press Next button to continue setup.

Select a folder in which My Lockbox application will be installed.
By default My Lockbox will be installed into \Program Files\My
LockBox folder. Press Next button to continue.

Select a folder in which My Lockbox shortcuts will be installed.
Press Next button to continue.

Press Install button to start copying files to your computer.

Set a password to protect your private lockbox folder:
Type your password into "Enter your password" field and
retype it again into "Confirm your password".
You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in "Enter
a password hint" field to help you remember your password.Note
that when you create a password hint, anyone who runs My LockBox
will be able to see the hint in the password prompt box.
If you leave password fields blank, you will be able to set the
password later - in My Lockbox Control Panel.
Note. If you are reinstalling My Lockbox,
this screen will not be displayed - the password from the previous
installation will be in use.

Define the location of your Lockbox. Lockbox is a folder where
your private data is stored or will be stored.
You can create a new folder for your private data or select the
existing folder.
If you leave this field blank, you will be able to set the Lockbox
location later - in My Lockbox Control Panel.
Note. If you are reinstalling My Lockbox,
this screen will not be displayed - Lockbox location from the previous
installation will be in use.

You can read the latest information (release notes) about My
Lockbox from our site. To check the release notes, make sure that
"Open release notes" is checked, then press Next button.

Here you should complete the installation of My Lockbox by
restarting the computer. Check the option and click Finish.
Basic configuration parameters
After the restart, My Lockbox becomes active and the folder
you assign as Lockbox is hidden and locked.
Now you can find two main shortcuts under the My Lockbox folder
in the Windows Start Menu:
- My Lockbox Control Panel
- My Lockbox
My Lockbox also appears on the desktop.
My Lockbox is a shortcut to your protected folder.
When you open this shortcut, My Lockbox prompts you to enter
your password, and if the password is valid, opens the folder on
the desktop.

My Lock Box Control Panel is a tool for Lockbox management.

You can use My Lockbox Control Panel to specify the Lockbox
location and create a password to prevent your Lockbox from unauthorized
access.
To start Folder Lock Box Control Panel, please click Start, select
All Programs/My Lockbox/My Lockbox Control Panel.
Alternatively you can press a hotkey (Ctrl+Shift+P by default).
There are 2 ways to change the LockBox location:
- Click on the
button near the My LockBox folder location input line, browse
for your private folder and click OK.
- Browse for your private folder in Windows Explorer and drag
this folder from Explorer to My LockBox Control Panel.
To create or change your password, click Advanced button and select
Password tab. If you are changing the password, you must enter the
current password into "Enter current password" line.

Type your new password into "Enter new password" and
"Confirm new password" lines.
You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Hint (password
reminder) to help you remember your password. Note that when you
create a password hint, anyone who runs My LockBox will be able
to see the hint in the password prompt box.
Enabling and disabling protection
When you start the computer, your lockbox folder is locked and
hidden.
To unlock this folder you should either start My LockBox Control
Panel and click Unlock button or open My Lockbox shortcut.
Please note that in both cases, Folder Lock Box prompts you to
input your password. If you close Control Panel, a small Folder
Lock Box icon will
appear in the system tray notifying you that Lockbox is unlocked.
You can click this tray icon to run My Lockbox Control Panel.
To lock the folder again, either run My Lockbox Control Panel
and click Lock button or click right mouse button on the My
Lockbox tray icon and select Lock and Quit from the drop-down menu.
